Area of Greater Landscape Value - landscape designation
The Government is seeking to dispense with the AGLV landscape designation. This designation currently applies to approximately 70% of the parish of Limpsfield and creates a valuable "buffer" to the major Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) designated as the Surrey Hills which lies to the north of the parish.
Surrey County Council has appointed Chris Burnett Associates landscape consultants "to assess the weight and importance attributed to the AGLV". The Parish Council has written to express the value of this designation and the importance attached to it by local people.
