Displaying includelets on your website
The page template determines the overall layout of the page, which slots are available, and where they are located on the page. Currently we only offer one layout template. (You will be notified when there are more layout templates to choose from).
Using Includelets
An includelet is a small piece of content which can be displayed on any of your pages. An example is the 'Communtiy Information' includelet. This enables you to display some of the information that you submitted on your application form when applying for a website (such as your organisation name, address and contact details. You can edit and update these details by going to the Manage Website page and clicking on 'Change organisation details').
To add an includelet to the page, click the "Add includelet" link. You’ll see a number of different options for inclusion on your page. These include:
- Community information
- Latest news
- Child list
- Custom
- Item list
By clicking on Community Information, you can choose which piece of information you would like to have displayed on your page from the dropdown box and clicking the 'Save changes' button.
To edit an existing includelet displayed on your page, double click on the includelet box. If the box is grey, click on
'Create a new revision to make changes' first. The page will be updated and the includelet box will be displayed white. You can then edit and update the includelet by double clicking on it.
To move includelets around on the page, simply drag-and-drop the includelet box to the new location. While you are dragging, a red bar will show up where the includelet will be dropped. Once you're happy with the new layout, click the "Save changes" button.
To delete an includelet, drag it to the Trash area.
Once you have finished updating the layout, you can preview and publish your changes by going to the publish page (by clicking on 'Publish'' in the blue menu bar above).
