Adding images and documents to your pages
You have probably been developing your website by adding some standard pages, such as events and job listings and you have added new content by creating your own pages. To make your site more interesting and informative you can also include images, documents and links on the pages you have created.
Use ‘Assets Library’ to start creating your audio/visual library. For example, suppose you want to use a particular image on one of your news stories. This must first be uploaded to the Assets Library database to ensure they can be seen by other online users. You can use the same method oultined below to upload as many documents, images, audio or visual clips to the site as you require.
In order to use documents, movie clips, images and other visual elements on your site, you need to adopt a two stage process.
1. You must upload the element to the website so that it is stored in the Assets Library.
2. You’ll then be able to pick up that visual or audio element and use it throughout the site.
If for example, you’ve uploaded 20 images, when you click on ‘images’, you’ll see thumbnail pictures and description of all the images in the library. You’ll be able to edit or delete any of the images. You can also clone the images. This is useful if you want to use the same picture across a number of different pages, only with a different description.
