About us

Esher Camera Club (previously known as Esher and District Photographic Society) is designed to help anybody who uses a camera or a computer. We have top photographers and computer 'experts' who understand the forever changing scene in traditional and digital photography. There is something for everyone! Travelogues, discussions, talks, competitions, practical evenings and socials. People who take only small prints are very welcome and at every meeting we can give guidance on viewpoints, exposures, composition and subject matter. Films, prints and photo paper are not cheap so it is worth joining the Club to get better results. Socials and outings are arranged, the latter with photography in mind. Club competitions are friendly and 14 trophies are awarded each year, judged by experts from other camera clubs. Some members do their own processing or have the work commercially done. Others come face-to-face with Digital Imaging - the latest photographic technology, where there seems to be no limit to the effects obtainable. However that does not exclude traditional colour or black and white photography which many members practise. Highlights of the year include an annual exhibition of Members' work, an auction of photographic material, an Annual Dinner and a Christmas Party.  Come along on a Tuesday evening at 19.45pm for 20.00pm and meet the Club. There will be a charge of £1 for visitors to help cover costs and be fair to Members. There is plenty of parking in Speer Road. You might even like us!
